Today marks the first opening ceremony for the Youth Olympic Games (YOG) 2010 and it is to be held in Singapore! Two years ago, Singapore outbid Moscow and took the privilege of being host to the inaugural YOG which will last until 26 August.
After travelling many miles over many countries, passing from hand to hand, the Youth Olympic flame finally reached the hands of Singapore's Minister Mentor, Mr Lee Kuan Yew, who lit up the cauldron with the flame, lit up the faces of many with smiles, and lit up the hearts of many with cheers.
One of the Swallow's young ones may also have the privilege of witnessing one of the games with his schoolmates. He is looking forward to the occasion which may come only once. His sibling is green...
